Dagmar is a wonderful Dive Guide for our dives on 17/Aug/2026, she is very knowledgeable of the dive spots, where to find the hiding fish, sharks, etc. She is very sweet and kind. I would come back here and use this dive shop and D again.

We just had an amazing experience with Friendly Island Divers! From the moment we walked in to make our reservation, we were greeted by their adorable dogs (Fish and Guppy) and then Natalie and Sietse gave us such a warm reception that we felt comfortable right away. I didn’t expect to, but I actually struggled a bit with breathing normally underwater at first. Sietse was incredibly patient and never rushed me. Instead, he gave me all the time I needed to get comfortable and calmly helped me figure out what the bottleneck was. It turned out I was subconsciously holding my breath too much 😅 But once I started breathing normally just like on the surface it was all good. Throughout the entire experience, safety and transparency were clearly the top priorities. We had regular check-ins, every step was explained calmly and thoroughly, and I always felt at ease. The dive itself was absolutely beautiful. We saw amazing marine life, and the underwater scenery was incredible. We couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to scuba diving! ❤️ We also really appreciated how environmentally conscious they are. It’s clear that they genuinely care about preserving marine life and protecting the reefs, and they encourage everyone to dive in a respectful and responsible way. Thank you, Sietse, Natalie, and the whole Friendly Island Divers team. We would 100% recommend them to anyone visiting Sint Maarten, whether it’s your very first dive or you’re already an experienced diver. We can’t wait to come back! And when we do, we’ll definitely be signing up for our certification course with you 🙂

Heel ontspannen met Sietse voor het eerst kunnen duiken. Erg duidelijk qua instructies, en ook een mooie route. Ik kan ze zeker aanbevelen voor beginners maar ook gevorderden.

I had an amazing experience with Friendly Island Divers during my cruise stop in Philipsburg, St. Maarten! From the moment I first reached out, Natalie was incredibly friendly, responsive, and attentive. She answered all of my questions, kept me updated about my booking, and made sure everything was ready for my arrival at the dive shop. We did two spectacular dives at the Marine Park, and I couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Natalie was so kind and patient, she helped me with my gear, shared helpful diving tips, and constantly checked to make sure I was comfortable and enjoying every moment underwater. The dives were absolutely incredible! We saw several sharks, huge schools of fish, a beautiful sea turtle that seemed to come over to say hello, and she even introduced me to her “octopus friend,” which was such a fun and memorable moment. Thank you Natalie, for an unforgettable day of diving and for the awesome videos! If I ever come back to St. Maarten, I’ll definitely be diving with Friendly Island Divers again. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a safe, professional, and truly enjoyable diving experience!

I took the refresher course with Dagmar since it has been several years since my last dive. She not only helped me with skills but also helped me gain confidence with being back in the water. The dives were also wonderful - great visibility and tons of beautiful marine life.

My daughter and I dove with them on July 17th. The communication before the trip was top notch. Since we were coming by cruise there was was question whether we would make port in time to make it to the Dive boat before it left. By the way, Friendly Island Divers is less that a 5 minute walk from the cruise terminal. They set up a backup plan for a beach dive incase we couldn't get off the boat in time. Fortunately, they got us on the boat for some incredible dives. I will use them again next time I'm in St. Maarten.

Great new.dive shop near the cruise ship terminal. Right next to Chesterfield. I.did the refresher class with Dagmar, it was informative and a great way to get ready for tomorrow's dive. 10/10 will dive again with them

Wat een geweldige ervaring met deze duikschool op Sint Maarten! Vanaf het moment dat we binnenkwamen werden we hartelijk ontvangen. De dames in de duikshop zijn ontzettend vriendelijk, behulpzaam en zorgen ervoor dat alles perfect geregeld is. De service is echt top: je hoeft zelf bijna nergens aan te denken, alles wordt voor je verzorgd. Ook aan boord is het uitstekend geregeld. Er is voldoende water, frisdrank en zelfs een biertje na afloop van de duiken. De sfeer is ontspannen en gastvrij. Onze gids was super enthousiast en wist precies waar we moesten zijn. We hebben prachtige onderwaterlandschappen gezien met mooi koraal, indrukwekkende doorkijkjes en veel leven. Tijdens onze duiken zagen we meerdere rifhaaien, veel barracuda’s, grote zeeschildpadden en als hoogtepunt zelfs een adelaarsrog (eagle ray)! Kortom: een professionele, vriendelijke en uitstekend georganiseerde duikschool met fantastische duiklocaties. Een absolute aanrader voor iedereen die op Sint Maarten wil duiken! 🌊🐠🦈🐢🦅✨

We booked a two tank dive to enjoy during our port day at Sint Maarten while on Royal Caribbean Star of the Seas. We had an amazing time with Dagmar as our Dive Guide. She was so incredibly welcoming and made our whole group feel in such great hands. In addition to proving an awesome scuba experience, she was so helpful with recommendations on other ways we can enjoy the rest of our day on the island. Friendly Island Divers is everything you look for in a dive centre. The quality of scuba gear , the attitude and friendly demeanour of every staff member , the knowledge of the beautiful dive sites and of course the overall safety they operate is impeccable. As someone who has dove all around SXM with other centres I can’t recommend diving with Nats , Siets and Dagmar anymore! The name says it all. Everyone was beyond friendly and super helpful. Night dive was top notch. If you want a crowded dive and second rate equipment, go elsewhere. If you want new equipment and a personalized feel, you found the place.

This dive shop is amazing! The staff is friendly, helpful, safe, patient, and fun. I got my rescue certification with them and they thoroughly explained the info and made sure that I was capable. They explained everything that I did wrong and why it was wrong, then we would go over it again to make sure that I understood it and could perform it to a satisfactory level. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone from a beginner to an experienced diver. I also went on some non training dives with them. They handled everything safely and adapted to the experience of the diver that they were with. Their gear is high quality and well maintained.

Alles goed geregeld, de prijs kwaliteit was top voor de Discover dive bij Little Bay. Ook de instructriece Dagmar was top, meegaand en erg rustig tijdens het uitleggen en tijdens het voor het eerst onder water gaan. Ook spreekt ze Nederlands wat voor ons handig was! Al met al een aanrader!

We dove with friendly Island diverse for five days and it was an amazingly good experience. They are knowledgeable, great service and very customer service oriented. Natalie and Dagmar are great dive masters and took very good care of us. If you want a great full service dive center then friendly Island divers is your place. We will dive with them again.

Come to St Maarten just to dive with Friendly Island Divers. They are fantastic. We stopped here on a cruise and loved diving with them. They make the whole process super easy, have a spacious boat, and are so close to the cruise terminals.

Great staff. In business only 4 months, but runs as smoothly as if they'd been doing it for years. Great gear, attentive to each diver. Only 4 divers in my dive which is SO GREAT!!! DEFINITELY a good idea to take seasickness medication BEFORE boarding the boat. It's mid April, beautiful weather, but quite big waves.

Friendly Island Divers is one of the best dive shops I have been to. They are very professional and experienced. They care about the environment and are caring about the reefs. I came from a Cruise ship and they helped arrange everything. Easy walk to their shop so no worries. Overall we had a great time. Good dives for any levels or training.

Five Stars for Friendly Island Divers! We received our open water certification through FID because we heard they were the best of the best! They exceeded our expectations. From the very beginning, we felt cared for and safe all while having the time of our lives in the beautiful waters of Sint Maarten. Natalie took our children diving and they gained so much confidence and are already itching to go again! Hands down, one of our favorite experiences! We can’t wait to come back one day!

After the dive shop at our resort let us down and couldn’t accommodate my 10 year old daughter for her first scuba dive, we called Friendly Island Divers. Natalie was great to deal with to get our dive scheduled and explained the whole process for getting my daughter scuba diving. The discover scuba diving course was perfect for her. When it is was time to dive, her husband Sietse took amazing care of my daughter. She initially struggled to regulate her ears on the initial descent. Sietse was extremely patient and worked with her to make sure she could get to the bottom safely. I couldn’t have been more happy with how my daughter’s first scuba diving experience went. I also scheduled a 2 tank dive for myself the next day. The 2 dives were amazing and checked all the boxes of what you want to see on a Caribbean dive. The pricing was extremely fair and I can’t recommend Friendly Island Divers more!

I completed my SSI Open Water Diver certification with Friendly Island Divers and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Over the 13th and 14th of March I did four dives in total with the team, and every single one was fantastic. The school is incredibly flexible and accommodating when it comes to planning and scheduling, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. A special shout-out to Nat, who is an outstanding instructor. She’s calm, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate about diving. Her explanations are clear and patient, and she takes the time to make sure everyone fully understands the skills and meets the requirements. What I especially appreciated is how she integrates the practice into the dive itself, so it never feels like “just training” — it feels like part of the adventure. The dives themselves were very well organized and structured. Safety and proper procedures are clearly a priority, and everything feels professional and compliant. At the same time, the atmosphere is friendly, energetic, and genuinely fun. You can tell this is a relatively young dive school that’s working incredibly hard to become one of the best on the island — and it shows in the effort and enthusiasm of the whole team. Thank you for everything! I’m already looking into doing some advanced courses here as well. The price-to-fun-to-learning ratio is hard to beat. Highly recommended.
